another day, another song... [Oct. 9th, 2004|02:24 am]
[mood | tired]
[music |Easyworld - Lying on a single bed...]

Okay,

So it's the end of another long, hard, tiring day! Not much going on really. I've changed my mind on the film I'm supposed to be producing for part of my HND Television Ops course. From swanky romantic comedy-drama to a music video portrayed in the eyes of a psyciatric (or however its spelt). I was thinking of perhaps filming with an 80 year old Cine camera in a horror-themed mansion (called Slains castle here in Aberdeen) to really make an authentic 1920's horror flick. Hmm...

The Easyworld DVD Bootleg has pretty much taken over everything at the minute. There are so many people looking forward to getting there hands on a copy, and I'm surely not one to let people down (I hope!). Does it need to be perfect? That's a difficult question. There are so many things that *could* be included, but as nicky (renegade_chic) told me, putting too much stuff on could ruin its whole appeal etc etc. What I've got so far, and what I've been offered would make the whole thing a great "release". Bought an expensive Adobe "Classroom" book, just so I know how to use Encore DVD to its full pontential. I think pretty menu's and a flash interface would indeed make the DVD what it should be, regardless of the content.

Absolutely nackered. Don't really know why I'm writing this, but it's been a while since I've blogged. Dyed my hair bright red, wish i'd gone maybe a metallic purple colour. Or i could just dye it black again and get a hat....

On the music front, THANKYOU Eevil_ali for getting me into MUSE!!!!! I used to be so narrow minded in music taste, heh, and really I still am. Past few months i've not really listened to anything else other than Easyworld, but it makes a change to plaster my wall with the vinyl of other bands i suppose.

David Ford released some samples of his work today. It actually inspired me quite a lot. I'm a piano ballad boy at heart, always really have been, and I think he brings out that type of music, with heart-wrenching, thought-provoking lyrics the best. Cheekily asked him if he fancied a DVD of his promo videos to hand out at his songwriter venues in London he's planning... doubt anything would come of that though.

Really fancy moving down to London too once I've finished my course. Another big city, but a lotta lotta opportunites for music and media. Could get a job as a DVD producer for one of those swanky commercial companies. Rather work for a record label though. Not so sure about working for majors, I don't like pre-fabricated music, glossy covers used to be my thing, but at the end of the day, that isn't what life is about.

Okay, so money might not be everything, causes more problems then anything else really, other than relationships! But then, money forms society, and no one can escape society eh? When I have a penthouse apartment with a glass wall looking over the New York skyline (don't get me started on America, but you gotta admit, the big city looks good eh?!) with a grand piano that I can sit down at every day and just play out the stories of my life and bore people to death, then well...

Well, I'm rambling.

the ache of a thousand newly nothings [Oct. 4th, 2004|11:42 pm]
[mood | *sticks tongue out*]
[music |Easyworld - Straight to Video]

56 Seaside Road, Eastbourne. Just got back from Easyworld's Glenn & Jo's Indie DJ night at the Namasker Rooms. 600 miles and 15 hours later, I can say it worth it! Anyone passing Eastbourne or surrounding area should really make an effort to go. Great guys, and the music just seemed to come outta my CD collection. Met easyboarder Wraith_02 for the first time, absolutely sound bloke (for those who wern't on the easycamp) and he put me up for the night and showed me around, introduced me to the DJ's etc. Bit mad for 3 hours in a bar though, eh?!

One more time, with feeling...

Okay! The Easyworld DVD deserves a mention here, For those who don't know yet, there will be a new bootleg 2 Disc DVD full of unreleased tracks and videos etc etc that you won't be able to get elsewhere. 100 copies available ONLY. Felt it was right to take the final packaged product to Eastbourne with me, seeing as I was going to see Jo & Glenn, and it seems to have been given the Okay! Glenn's thinking about giving some behind the scenes footage of the recording of HDIECTT and Video but don't hold me to that, he's a v. v. busy guy!

It is taking a lot of time, people are asking when it will be ready but it's hard to tell. It's definately underway and WILL be released, i've put over £200 into it so far so i'll make sure of that! I just don't want to release a sub-standard product that will disappoint a lot of people.

A little something for the boys upstairs...

Not sure discharging myself from hospital with a collapsed lung was a seriously good idea, probably not the best decision I've made! but the fresh air seems to have done me good, the doctors say my lung has "fully re-inflated"!! So apart from the odd "twinge" and bit of pain now and again, I've got the all clear to go back to college and work next week!! woo.

Until next time,

David.x
